annotate src/libident/INSTALL @ 239:31ee44f45787
refactored alias.c heavily
especially substituted the loop-based alias_expand()
with a recursive approach. Now alias_expand() wraps
alias_one() which recursively expands aliases.
In principle the ``data processing'' is the same but
now it's clearer structured and thus easier to understand
IMO.
The loop might have been faster but I don't care for
speed -- the most simple solution is the best. It's fast
enough, that is sufficient.

1 To build the libident library for a supported target, just type:
2
3 make <target>
4
5 where target can be one of:
6
7 sunos5, sunos4, svr4, bsd, linux, nextstep3.0 or nextstep3.1
8
9 For other systems you'll need to hack the Makefile (please do send
10 me any patches you make so I can include them into the next version!)
